first it takes no talent to use an auto tuner,if he had singing talent he wouldn’t need it. second,i quote kanye west”I AM THE VOICE OF THIS GENERATION”anyone who says that better be able to back it up. he using an auto-tuner just hides that he jumped on the band wagon. he is an egotistical guy who talks before he thinks. and your final point makes my case, he used OTHER rappers because he doesn’t have it anymore. thats why he needed a new gimmick to sell this record hence auto-tuner.

good comparison. i mean, it still takes talent to use the auto tune and stuff, but ppl are just mad that his lyrical quality isnt there anymore. he repeats the same thing over and over throught the album, except for heartless, where he acutally has verses. its a well produced album, the quality is good. the lyrics are just not so great. the 2 best songs are amazin and see you in my nightmares cuz he features rappers who provide good lyrics.

just cuz kanye aint a legend like those rappers dont mean that he aint good. hes dope, graduation was a bit more maintstream than his first 2 albums, but that dude has serious talent and is a real rapper. he decided to do singing cuz it would be thereputical for the horrible year he was having. he’ll be back to rapping soon. hes a true hip hop artist and will be a legend someday. just cuz he aint a top 10 rapper like krs1 and rakim (the godfather of rap) dont mean he aint good.

Ok to use your comparison, a person actually plays a guitar. i will dumb it down for you. alicia keys would be a guitar player, Kanye would be the Guitar Hero Player! as for the others who think that kanye can actually rap and has something to say? he has a real song here and there, you can’t compare him to chuck d,krs 1,rakim, or any other real rapper who says more than how much money he makes and rhymes the same word over and over!(i bet good life took Kanye a whole 5 minutes to write!)

do ppl realize Kanye is a rapper not an actual singer. he was signed to roc-a-fella for rapping not singing so don’t take his trying to sing so serious I mean the shit that he is singing about is way more deep than what he raps about I think he felt it would be innapropiate to rap these songs on his new album like he couldn’t express his self fully by rapping so i just consider this his album where he mourns his moms death and everything else wrong and then next album the old kanye will be back

Thedave3333, the voice is an instrument too. If you are saying that using machines to make a new sound means you have “no actual talent”, then anyone who has ever used an electric guitar effect is a fake. Because they should be naturally able to make a guitar echo or wah right? These rappers are doing the same thing as plugging a pedal up with a guitar. It is skewing the actual sound to make something new. So before you make accusations, be sure to check your logic.

i am comparing a person with no vocal range no pitch and is tone deaf who has to use a machine in order for him to do his job to a man who couldn’t hit a major league fastball out of any baseball park unless he used a machine. you wouldn’t give credit to the guy who could hit a baseball, everyone would come down on him for having no actual talent, but if you use a machine that makes you sing (kanye, t-pain, rihanna, britney and most any other pop vocalist) you praise them. it is an outrage!

your comparison is skewed. youre comparing baseball, a game w/rules, to music, which basically has no rules. saying that music is based soley on an artists vocal ability is subjective and narrow-minded thinking. i could then say that people who have producers that help them by giving them catchy beats have no talent because the beat makes the entire song.
